I Quit Medium — Why Did I Choose to Come Back?

I quit Medium because I am from India. I joined this platform back then in 2020 during the first COVID-19 outbreak. It all started with the question of “how to kill time” “Yeah I can write..!! Umm maybe” “I think I should be quitting this platform” to “ I need my voice to be heard”. I spent quite a lot of my time reading, searching, as well as writing on medium earlier but the discouragement it brings each time thinking, “I am from India and I cannot earn”.

I quit Medium while I was pursuing my pre-doctoral course in mental health. I am a mental health professional as well as a doctoral scholar practising and researching mental health now and I need a voice. That’s where I get that thought again “Let’s get back to medium”.

I know that medium won’t pay me even now.

Despite knowing this, I choose to stay here, because I have something to say and will choose to say it every day.
